Ouch, My Heart January 20, 2009

Every Tuesday night since the separation of my ex husband and I, my dad takes my children and I out for a special date night to a local restaraunt for their kids night fun.  It has become a huge deal to my son and he excitedly awaits  Tuesday nights!

Today will be the first time he will be with his father on a Tuesday night since we have started this tradition 6 months ago.  I happily tried to explain to him that Daddy was going to take him to kids night tonight and make it sound like an awesome and wonderful idea only to hear his response…”But mom, maybe our whole family can come tonight instead.”  …Cue the heart breaking sounds…He is 3.

I love my little man.  I hate that he has to have these sad realizations as he is getting older.

I swear its a good thing there is no reason for camera crews to follow me around during my days…!

Just now I found myself with a huge plastic juice pitcher and a cake spatula chasing my little lizard friend who has been stuck in my house for days!

The best part was that I was talking to him the whole time.  Ya know, lizards need some encouragement too!

Countdown is Here February 29, 2008

Well, the time has come.  It’s here.  I am flying solo come this Sunday.  Franc leaves sunday evening for 3 months.  I am choosing not to really think about it because I don’t think it would really help.  Maybe I will start a Save Carla’s Sanity Fund and collect donations so I can travel and visit friends and keep us occupied while we are alone.  It is a good cause.  Do you feel compelled? 

Anybody have any good (and cheap) new ideas that we should try?   

My Whole House Smells Like Pee. February 19, 2008

It seems like everywhere I sitor lay down lately smells like pee!  I mean, everywhere.  Maybe it’s me.  Maybe I just smell like pee?  Nasty.

For those of you questionable people that read this, you know I have been potty training.  Well, not me.  Well, note. I go in the potty just fine.  Let’s try that again…I have been potty training my 2 year old son!  So, it’s going pretty well.  He barely ever has an accident…except poop…which I don’t want to talk about… anyway… It’s like I can’t get away from the stuff. I feel like I live in the land of poo poo pee pee.  (A kindergarteners dream, I bet!.. Face it, poop is funny.)

So…I am off to scour the house with my cleaner in hand!   Watch out and keep out of my way or you will get scrubbed!
